The Flash: A Review of Season 5 Episode 3
October 28, 2018
(Spoilers ahead!)
Previously on The Flash, Nora West-Allen has traveled back from the future to see her parents, but she causes a little bit of a mess. We also find out about Caitlin’s father, who might actually be alive, and a masked figure going by the name of Scada is a mystery for the cast to solve.
A great show like The Flash deserves to be praised so here’s my list of things I loved about the episode:
-The Flash Museum was amazing. I’m glad we got to see it in order to understand Nora’s point of view.
-The robbery scene when the robber says, “I told you I brought my own bags” and accepts the apology was just hilarious to me, that guy stole the show.
-Also the scene with the first Wells not liking Cisco but fawns over everyone else was just amazing acting on Tom Cavanagh’s part.
– I thought the fight scene with David Hearse was well done and convincing.
-My heart broke when Caitlin found the note from her father because she finally got closure (at least in the moment) of what happened to her dad.
-Ralph and Caitlin hanging out together is so nice- I love their friendship
-When Barry was giving Nora advice I loved how they connected and it seemed genuine.
-The CGI (computer generated imagery) for the killing vibe scene was mind-blowing.
-The plan about how to pretend Cisco was killed off was a good and surprising one.
-I love moments on the show where little things connect to big things, and they delivered that tonight with Caitlin’s dad and her made up periodic table.
-That moment where Sherloque seems like he’s figuring out some secret of Nora’s kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more.
Not every episode can be flawless, though. Here’s my list of dislikes:
-At first, I loved Sherloque Wells, but after a while, he got really annoying and super arrogant. I wish we had gotten the other wells instead.
-I am so confused about the old tattoo Iris had.
-I have a love-hate relationship with the “This could be a crime scene line”, because it was so bad it was funny and especially with the autotune on the voice that just makes it worse
-We barely saw any training of Nora with Barry so the mention was out of place to me
-Was it just me or did we all know that Cisco wasn’t really going to die?
In the end season, 5 episode 3 of The Flash was up to par with all the other episodes. I loved the character bonding, the amazing CGI, and the dialogue. The things I didn’t like were mostly nitpicky stuff. If you haven’t already, I recommend watching this episode of The Flash and all the others.
