Why Brawl is my favorite Smash game.

With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate coming out this December, I thought that I’d look back on what has come before it. In total there are five Smash games (Including Ultimate). This article is going to be a bit biased because I have only played three of them and enjoyed two of those three. I’ve played Melee, Brawl, and Super Smash Bros. 4. If I had to rank them in the order I enjoyed most, I’d rank them like this:

  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl
  • Super Smash Bros Melee
  • Super Smash Bros 4.

The reason for this is because Brawl brought the most to the table. Compared to Melee, it vastly improved on the graphics as well as character roster. The Wii remote was also much less confusing than the Gamecube’s. However, I never played Melee all that much yet I do have an appreciation for it.

SSB4 is the game I will say I don’t like. The main reason for this is because it just isn’t interesting. The new maps didn’t add anything for me personally, and playing with eight other players is just too crowded. While the character roster and graphics did get a massive boost, fan favorite character Solid Snake was removed from the game. This, for me at least, made the game less enjoyable because they’d taken away the characters you mained.

S.S.B.B. is my favorite game in the series. However, this does not mean that any other game in the series is bad! Although Brawl is the only Smash game I play, I do recognize and appreciate everything the other games in the series has done. This is just my opinion that I thought I’d share. Hopefully you see my view on this.
