This year thousands of people bundled up to try and stay warm during the chilling twenty-degree weather to attend the Thanksgiving Macy’s Parade in New York City. This was the coldest Thanksgiving in over a century. With winds up to thirty miles per hour, handlers had to keep all the balloons low to the ground to avoid a dangerous situation. If the gusts of wind hit thirty-four miles per hour, police would have been forced to ground the balloons. Thankfully Pikachu, Spongebob and many more were able to fly without any mishaps.

There were several performances including Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, John Legend, and Diana Ross. The cast from the new Broadway play, The Prom, performed their song “It’s Time to Dance.”

Overall the second coldest Thanksgiving on record was a success!
