Modern Family’s title says it all; it’s a show about a family living their lives one crazy day at a time. This show is one of the best comedy shows on TV. The most recent episode deals with many family issues, including dealing with puberty as a young girl, having insecurities about becoming a mother, and not being able to get sleep. Here’s what I liked and disliked about the episode…

Things I adored:

  • I loved the opening scene where Phil was doing sleep magic with his phone; it was a great way to start the episode
  • The intro is so iconic and reminds me of when I was little and would watch the show all the time
  • The joke about making burritos with the E. Coli was good comic relief for the tense situation
  • I’m so glad Claire realized her self-worth and decided to take that interview
  • I loved the Diva cup joke and the dads not knowing what it was
  • When Phil just said the numbers, then stopped; it felt like something I would do when I’m tired
  • Phil going into a British accent, then screaming, “I don’t hear it!” It was the best moment on this episode
  • Everyone trying to console Lily in their own  different ways was funny
  • Hayley’s boyfriend supporting her makes their relationship seem more real to me

A thing that bothered me:

  • Why is it that Claire can’t just find a job and grow something herself, but instead it has to be an awful company that she won’t go to and she’ll just go back to her dad?

Overall, Modern Family is funny and charming. You don’t have to watch any of the previous episodes to watch this show and understand the plot. Each episode brings a new storyline that can make anyone laugh. I recommend this show to anyone who wants to sit down and have a good time.
