Everyone’s favorite night of the year is almost upon us: Halloween! During the month of October, fall emerges, with leaves falling and the chilly breezes passing by. But the best part of fall is always Halloween and the different community events that you can go to!
On October 29th, in Northport Village, there’s a Halloween Hayride in the park. This is a family-friendly event with a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, costume contest, food, and more! Also, you can wear a costume while at the event!
Another Halloween-themed event in the community is at Adventure Park. For all of those climbers and hikers, here’s a fun way to spend your evening. On the dates of October 14th, October 21st, and October 28th, there will be an event at the Adventure Park with music and food. And while you’re climbing and ziplining around, there will be glow-in-the-dark LED lights around you. As well as that, there will be creepy sound effects and jumpscares as you complete each area, so beware!
Another event hosted near you is the haunted house at the Vanderbilt Museum. Here on October 26th-27th (on a Saturday and Sunday) will be a haunted house; but not just any haunted house. There will be people chasing you, along with jumpsacres, spiders, and bugs crawling flawlessly. Also, there will be dead bodies and chainsaws, along with terrifying sound effects. So if you’re up for the challenge, head on over!
The last event that I will share with you is for all the runners and athletes out there. The 5k Halloween Run in Greenlawn will be held on October 28th. During the race, it is encouraged to wear a costume of some sort, so if you run, make sure to wear a costume! It starts at the Greenlawn fire department, and with a loud fire of a gun, you’re off!
Those are just some of the many things to do in the community to celebrate Halloween! Stay safe and have fun!
