The New Year is one of the only traditions that are celebrated around the world every single year. Families, friends, and communities get together to watch the countdown on TV and the amazing fireworks that light off in the background, which is always really exciting! The holiday is a symbol of a new year; a fresh start for everything and everyone!
2024 exceeds to bring new entertainment in new ways, as many new movies are starting out strong. One exciting new movie is Deadpool, the third movie in the franchise. Also, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will be released this year, following the popular first movie, War of the Planet of the Apes. This movie will extend the great franchise giving viewers more to cheer about.
Following their amazing play, Wicked has found its way to the movie theater, preparing for an epic movie. Kong and Godzilla are suiting up for another movie as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Gladiator 2 is another new movie coming to the theaters as well. One last movie is Kung Fu Panda, coming back for a fourth film. These new movies are giving theatres packed seats and are giving thrills that you won’t want to miss.
New tech coming out in 2024 is exciting customers more than ever. Tech companies that usually disappoint (like Apple who releases the same phone every year) are actually coming out with exciting products. For example, Apple is coming out with its very own VR headset that is rumored to be better than the popular VR headset brand Oculus. Another exciting innovation coming out in 2024 is the cyber truck. The cyber truck is supposed to be bulletproof and be able to go 0-60 mph in 3 seconds!
Although it only comes every 4 years, this year is a leap year! A leap year creates an extra day in February, making the month end on the 29th unlike the 28th, also making the year 366 days long unlike 365 days. Fun fact: People born on February 29th, on a leap year, can only truly celebrate their real birthday once every four years, although they age at the same rate. Also, every leap year, depending on the school district, you might have an extra day of February break!
This year is foreseen to have the biggest election day in democracy’s history! Around the globe, more than half of the population will vote for this year, as well as the final average of votes will be much higher than any other year prior to this one, thus creating bigger percentages for both competing candidates.
