If the album Strange Trails by Lord Huron doesn’t ring a bell, you may know it by a song called “The Night We Met” that has blown up over TikTok and other social media throughout the years.
Lord Huron is a band founded and led by Ben Schnieder on guitar, vocals, and the occasional harmonica. He is accompanied by his other bandmates Mark Barry on drums and percussion; Miguel Briseno who plays bass, percussion, and a theremin; and Tom Renaud on guitar and vocals.
Lord Huron is a unique indie rock band that I have been playing on repeat for months now. This album specifically has some of my favorites including “The Night We Met”, “Meet Me In The Woods”, “La Belle Fleur Sauvage”, “Frozen Pines”, “The Yawning Grave”, and the “World Ender”, or in other words, more than half of the album.
When I first heard this band on TikTok around 2019, I really enjoyed the song “The Night We Met”, but dismissed the artist for months after as most do when hearing hundreds of audios of songs over media. Later, I realized just how interesting the song was and eventually looked at some of their hits and gave them a listen. Soon, I was hooked and listening to the album throughout last summer, and then taking the time to check out other albums and falling in love with those.
Now I play on repeat songs like: “Long Lost”, “Meet Me In The Woods”, “Mine Forever”, “Drops In The Lake”, and “The Ghost On The Shore”, all from different albums. This artist helped me discover an entire genre of music that I now love and will continue to love. I strongly recommend giving Lord Huron a listen. Let me know what you think in the comments!
