Whether you consider yourself a Swifty or not, there is no denying the fact that Taylor Swift has been in the media more and more lately. From her Eras Tour around the world to her new relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, she has truly been in the spotlight lately. Although many have supported her since her Debut album, others have found themselves in a strong position of disapproval as a result of her involvement in the NFL.
When Travis and Taylor were first spotted together, many Swifties were elated about what it could mean. On December 6, 2023, Taylor announced that the relationship between her and the football star was official. She quickly began attending the Kansas City Chiefs games and was spotted frequently by both fans and the media.
As a result of her attendance, many NFL fanatics believe that she is taking away from the game and that she has no right to be that much of a focus during gameplay. Some have even stated that Taylor is “ruining the NFL” or that she has “no place in football.”
The increase in media coverage and public attention on this issue has brought forth many opinions. Former NBA star Charles Barkley was even quoted saying: “If you’re screaming at T-Swift saying she ruined football, you’re a loser.” Although many are happy to support her, there are definitely other football fans around the country who believe she is doing more harm than good.
Some of these fans have claimed that the referees of the AFC Championship were favoring the Chiefs over the Ravens in order to assist the Chiefs in their victory. Some believe that the NFL allowed this to happen because they wanted Taylor Swift to be in attendance for the Super Bowl.
Former Presidential Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is in favor of this idea as he believes that the AFC title game was rigged to benefit the Chiefs. Although he thinks the game was rigged, his reasoning behind this theory has a deeper meaning rooted in politics because of Taylor’s previous involvement in the Presidential Election of 2020.
In 2020, Taylor Swift endorsed Joe Biden in his campaign and even encouraged many of her fans to register to vote. Ramaswamy believes that Taylor will do this again and that having her at the Superbowl proves to be a huge advantage for the Democratic Party in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election.
Now that she has the chance to attend the Superbowl, Taylor has to manage to make it to Las Vegas in time to catch the game. The day before the big game, she is performing in Tokyo for her Eras Tour. With both the 17-hour time difference from Nevada and the 12-hour flight it takes to get there, her ability to make it in time for kickoff has been in question.
Although the timeline had its doubts, the Embassy of Japan in the United States issued a statement saying: “The Embassy can confidently Speak Now to say that if she departs Tokyo in the evening after her concert, she should comfortably arrive in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl begins.” This has come to the relief of many fans across the country who are hoping to see Taylor at her first Superbowl. Although she may be jet-lagged, she will almost definitely be in attendance sporting her signature Kansas City jersey just in time to watch Kelce play.
Although people across the world have many mixed opinions on Taylor Swift and her music, there is no denying the fame that she has acquired throughout the years. Whether you love her or hate her, she truly has captured the eyes of the media for many different reasons.
With her upcoming show in Tokyo, her attendance at Superbowl LVIII, and her potential influence on the upcoming Presidential Election of 2024, it is safe to say that Taylor truly has the attention of many. Although some people may not support her contributions to football, on February 11, 2024, she will be ready to set foot into Allegiant Stadium wearing her red to cheer on the Chiefs as they challenge the 49ers for the Superbowl LVIII title!

People have opinions and
often resort to fantasies or conspiracies.
If Travis and Taylor want to date let the cards fall. Good for them and I wish them well. I am a KC fan and Andy Reid is a class act and knows his players like his own. Travis’s argument was heated but reasonable. If Andy hadn’t lost his footing, he would push back. He is respected and he respects great players. I love the man more today than ever. His response is what others should learn. Forgiveness is powerful. I teared up when Andy addressed the tap. I saw it in Travis’s soul he knew it looked bad the moment it happened Good for him to see and apologize. Hawk
