Northport High School’s Tech Crew is one of the most welcoming sub-communities involved with NHS. If you’re looking for a club that works with power tools, painting (and I mean lots of it), building and putting together sets and props, meeting amazing people with similar goals and interests, and having lots of fun in an environment that is only beneficial to one’s mind and character, NHS Tech Crew is a club to consider.
The musical The Prom follows famous actors in search of a community service project when they stumble upon a girl named Emma from Indiana who is being discriminated against for being gay. The NHS Tech Crew as well as some of the wonderful teenagers involved in theater from our high school are all putting an immense amount of work into the overall success of the showcases.
The preparation that our Tech Crew has endured, and to watch each project develop from start to finish is nothing short of impressive.
A quote from a tech crew member who would appreciate staying anonymous states “We all really put a lot of hard work and effort into each set. Everything turned out incredible. The Prom wouldn’t be as organized if it wasn’t for our amazing crew, in my opinion.”
After experiencing multiple rehearsals firsthand, being involved in the complicated but well-arranged process of each set from the beginning of building to the movement of each finalized piece on the stage to format different scenes, I am glad to say that The Prom will be perfect when the first showcase arrives.
The Prom has its first performance this Friday 3/1 at 7 pm and the last two showings are on Saturday 3/2 (7 pm) and Sunday 3/3 (2 pm). Don’t forget to grab your tickets!
