If you live in the Northport-East Northport community and love sandwiches, you have probably heard of Northside Delicatessen & Gourmet Catering, known by local residents as Northside Deli or simply Northside. Located at 693 Fort Salonga Road in Northport, NY, Northside is known for its wide array of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, as well as its famous iced teas and half-and-half drinks. Outlined below are my thoughts on a recent dining experience I had at Northside:
Menu:
When you look at the menu of Northside, there are a lot of options to choose from, which can be overwhelming. I recommend going inside to order if you want a more complex sandwich because you can see all the different options through the counter window. However, if you want a basic sandwich, such as bacon, egg, and cheese, then ordering over the phone is a good option. When you get to the store, there are plenty of options for sodas and iced teas, which you can buy with your order.
Pricing:
The pricing of items at Northside is very fair, especially to high schoolers. If you are in high school and you show your student ID to the cashier, you get a sandwich for a discounted price. When I go to Northside, I always get the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a roll, and when I show my student ID, I get the sandwich for only $8.00. I also recommend getting cookies (which are below the register counter) to go with the sandwich you buy. They are always delicious and only $3.25 each.
Speed:
The speed of the staff is very good. When I order my food, I pick it up within 15 minutes and it is almost always ready to go. When you get there, the cashiers are very efficient and ring you up quickly. This place is a very safe option to go on lunch leave because it is close to the high school, and also the employees will make sure that it is ready as quickly as possible. However, like any restaurant, if you have a large or complicated order, then give the staff a little more time to prepare it before you come get it.
Overall Experience:
My experience at Northside has always been positive, which is why I keep going back there to get sandwiches. First, the staff are very efficient and always have my order ready. Second, when I go in there, they are very friendly and helpful and will do their best to make your experience at the store positive. And third, when I eat my food, I am always satisfied. If you have not tried the egg sandwiches, I highly recommend them. There are also plenty of other sandwich types to choose from. Northside Deli has many options, good service, and very good food.
