For some, summer is a time to relax, lay back, and do nothing. For others, summer is a time to fill resumes and travel the world. Whatever type of summer you want to have, there’s one thing you need (other than sunscreen): A summer bucket list.
I personally feel like summer is never long enough. I end up spending half my time at home because it’s hard to come up with plans and find something new to do. Last summer, my friends and I ended up just going to the same few places. Having a list of activities your group wants to do can seriously help. Bust out the markers and design a colorful list with your friends. I hung mine on the wall so I don’t forget about it. This can seriously help your plans make it out of the group chat.
Your ideas don’t have to be anything crazy, they can be as simple as “Go to the beach” or “Volunteer for a day”. My personal favorite idea is a PowerPoint night. Everyone has to make a presentation on a topic they are passionate about, whether it’s silly or serious.
I also think listening to live music is a very summery activity. Festivals and fairs sometimes have bands performing.
Last, baking with friends can be a fun challenge. You might have heard of the blind, deaf, mute challenge where a trio tries to bake something except each person has a handicap. Making food with friends is such a rewarding experience, even if you get the recipe wrong.
I hope I’ve inspired you to make a bucket list for the summer. Summer can be a time for goals, relaxation, and friends. It’s okay not to go on fancy vacations or go out every day. Make Summer 24’ your own!
