Do you like Disney’s new releases? Chances are you don’t. The usually popular movies seemed to fail to entertain their audience last year.
Some of Disney’s biggest flops were Indiana Jones 5, The Marvels, and Wish. The only movie that performed better than expectations was Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
Now, you might be asking why these Disney movies are flopping. My opinion is that making animated movies is so inexpensive now with AI and new technology to the point that Disney is starting to blast out many low-quality movies and hope for the best.
Also, it’s not only movies that are being ruined. Some very popular Disney World rides are being changed. Personally, I’m fine with Disney changing existing rides but the problem is that they removed some of the best rides like Splash Mountain. What’s worse is that, in my opinion, they replaced them with genuinely worse rides.
Even with almost all their movies flopping and genuinely bad rides Disney still seems to be making massive amounts of money from their theme parks (making $21.24 billion last quarter – that’s $9 billion more than expectations).
Since they are making so much money they have a choice: they can either make more low-quality animated movies or they could spend more time on making better movies that people will love. Sadly, I think I know what path they are taking.
