Do you want to start a new TV show this weekend? Or are you looking for a show you can watch with your friends? Here are some TV show recommendations that we liked, and why you should watch them.
Squid games
Squid game season 2 just dropped as of December it picks up where season 1 left off in 2021 most people have already seen or heard of it but I had to include it on this list. It is a show about people in Korea who are in severe financial debt and need money to pay the debt collectors who are after them. They are all approached by men who offer them a chance to make millions, but they have to compete in games. 456 people show up to compete and they think that it’s just normal children’s games, but eventually realize that they could die in their pursuit of this money. It’s a very entertaining show and you should watch it if you want to watch a current popular TV show.
Arcane
From the tallest skyscrapers to the smallest minuscule details. This show will revolutionize animation as we know it. Some might call it the mother of all modern animation…
Arcane production began in 2015 as 2 creators had the idea to turn a videogame storyline into an animated masterpiece. League of Legends, a videogame that has been around for 15 years, is the basis for Arcane. The 2 creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee took almost 6 years to develop the first season of Arcane which included over 10 main characters that they had to animate in each position perfectly, as well as 405 minutes of animation alone in all 9 episodes. On a podcast, the creators said they wanted to take this chivalry steampunk combo of a masterpiece many steps ahead of anime, as they used new technology to change the entire city the show was based on. The future of animation as we know is rapidly changing with new technology and will likely never stop changing. My point is, watch this show you’ll love it.
The Office: U.S.
One of the most influential shows of the 21st century, The Office: U.S. was initially a spinoff of The Office U.K., even though it is far more popular, at least in the U.S., than its British counterpart. The show is about the average American paper company, Dunder-Mifflin, and how it struggles in the ever-changing times of 21st-century business. The Office has also played its role in pop culture. The infamous “That’s what she said” joke originated from the regional manager of Dunder-Mifflin, Michael Scott. Steve Carell (Michael Scott), John Krasinski (Jim Halpert), and Rainin Wilson (Dwight Schrute) are only a few of the renowned actors in The Office. These actors help bring the show to life and represent the personalities that occasionally clash in the “Modern American Workspace” and the antics that transpire during these “conflicts”. The show even features numerous star cameos and timeless jokes that after hours of rewatching, still have me bursting out with laughter. If you haven’t watched this show I would highly recommend it.
Fallout
Fallout is an Amazon Prime TV series that is based on the game franchise “Fallout.” It takes place in Post-Apocalyptic California where there are a bunch of different factions which all want to rebuild the U.S. in different ways. There is a lot of conflict in this show and it definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Invincible
Invincible is an animated series with a 3rd season dropping in February 2025. It’s about a kid Mark who gets superpowers because his dad came from another planet. His dad is the strongest hero of all time and his dad trains his son on how to use his power but in the process, the group that defends Earth known as “The Guardians of the Globe” are all killed and nobody knows who could have done it. Eventually, Mark has to choose to either join his father or fight him to protect the Earth, and it’s another series that I recommend watching.
