If you haven’t seen it, the Northport School District website got a major facelift. For as long as students can remember, the Northport website has been the familiar warm blue and gold with photos of student news. But now there’s a new website theme with a new color: White. I think this change surprised teachers and students alike as the old website disappeared overnight. So what’s the deal with the new site?
Well the change created a more modern look and better organized sub pages. Portal logins are now at the top right of the site, which makes checking grades much quicker. The “schools” are also their own menu, separate from the ones lower on the page. News has been moved down the page along with a new upcoming events sidebar. The website is now more polished, showcasing professional photos of our diverse school programs. I like the newer website’s design better overall as it feels more friendly.
The Port Press can’t complain, as we are now under the “Important Links” section of the homepage. And whether you like it or not, the new site is here to stay.
