Just a few minutes drive west down Route 25A sits beautiful downtown Huntington. There are so many great restaurants in this area, including the Italian restaurant Portofino, located at 395 New York Avenue. This restaurant offers great food as well as great access to the rest of downtown Huntington.
Menu:
When I walked into Portofino, I noticed it seemed to be a combination of a pizzeria and a restaurant; people could walk in and pick up a slice of pizza or sit down and enjoy an elegant dining experience. This is what I love about Portofino.
Furthermore, they have great options on their menus for both walk-in, pick up, and a sit-down experience. When I was dining here, I ordered the Tomato Sauce and Meatballs with spaghetti, which was an excellent choice. I also recommend the Side Caesar Salad to go with your entree.
Nonetheless, for senior students on lunch leave, you can surely order pizza by the slice for lunch. This option allows for a quick meal all while enjoying the food at Portofino.
Pricing and Speed:
The pricing of this restaurant is very fair, and is relatively on the less expensive side for a beautiful dining experience. When I went on a Saturday night during December break from school, the speed of the staff was very efficient, and my family and I received our food quickly.
Atmosphere:
The atmosphere of Portofino matches perfectly with the atmosphere of the rest of downtown Huntington. From where you sit, you can see the bustling street and sidewalks of New York Avenue but are able to enjoy a peaceful meal at your table. Portofino makes you feel that you are part of a busy night in downtown Huntington but also allows you to enjoy a great meal with family and friends.
Overall Experience:
I truly enjoyed my experience at Portofino. From its great food to its amazing atmosphere, Portofino is one of many great restaurants in and around Huntington. I highly recommend for everyone to try this great restaurant if they have not already, because you will surely have a great experience.
