Whether it’s school, a sports team, a club, a company role, or even for your household… Leadership is something that can influence people to success. Poor leadership can come from laziness, minimum engagement, poor communication, lack of empathy and resistance to change. Strong and effective leadership can stem from effective communication, the ability to motivate their peers, strategic thinking in tough situations, and to be committed. Committed to making a change and leading with passion.
To be a true effective and strong leader you need to have confidence. Confidence
to be able to solve problems. Confidence to implement new ideas and changes to a goal. To have goals in general is a must. Whether it’s Long term and or short term goals. Because having both can create a more organized, precise, and even accurate future of events and final plans within the area or field of the leader(s). A leader builds their peers up to the best they can. They never knock them down. Leaders are extremely selfless people that think of the better cause and how they can improve what has been already polished. Gaining trust within a community is also a huge must when trying to be or are a leader. If you don’t have the loyalty and trust of YOUR COMMUNITY, then your job as any leader will be extremely difficult. To do so you must take it slow. Slowly but surly meet new people, show up to events locally and regionally. Create fundraisers or run tents yourself. Get a few friends or family to help promote you. And soon enough, with a little bit of hard work you will be well known. Now anyone looking to join you in whatever it is you do, or if they see you again in the future they’ll remember positive things about you. Ultimately leading to a more trustworthy relationship.
When being a leader you have to deal with mood swings a little better than the average person would. I’m not saying don’t feel emotions, but I mean handle it a little more reasonably. Give yourself that extra cushion and benefit of the doubt by keeping a positive, optimistic yet strong and firm attitude. When doing so, you can keep your cool way more frequently, and you can continue to pursue your goals/executions with the same amount of confidence and mindset as when you just started.
Leaders aren’t just CEO’s (in fact many CEO’s aren’t amazing leaders), Coaches, Teachers, Principles, Captains, Adults in general… ANYONE CAN BE A LEADER! I mean it!! Anyone can!!
It may seem hard to step up, but it doesn’t matter who you are. The word LEADER is a title, a position, a name. It isn’t anything special. It’s the person who is behind the title, the person who takes action and makes a difference. Those people are leaders, and it can be anyone in the whole world. Because leading isn’t a few things, it’s infinite things. There are infinite things to take charge of and lead for. You name it, you can lead it. Even creating something out of thin air. Changing and leading things for the better cause, even if it’s just for a small group of people, that’s still the most incredible thing you can do. Make a change! It won’t be hands down easy but it isn’t hard to try! It never is! Just don’t give up if you really want to pursue it!
