A Different Kind of Spirit Week

This year’s Spirit Week did not have as much energy as previous years. In the past we had pajama day, school jersey day, etc. Unfortunately this year, pajama day, a school favorite, was not included in the 2018 Spirit Week. In spite of that, numerous students wore pajamas in lieu of crazy sock day which caused some controversy.

Additionally the homecoming dance did not have a large attendance. Our school has roughly 2,000 students but the dance only had around 200 attendees with the majority being underclassmen. Over the past few years, homecoming dance has not been much fun. Previously there was only small bottled waters, a dj and chex mix to snack on but this year was surprisingly different. There was catered food, several kahoot rounds, a dj and zorb ball game in the gym.  Although the dance ended up more like a middle school canteen rather than the stereotypical high school homecoming dance, it was more enjoyable than previous years.
