On Wednesday, November 28th, 17 DECA members represented Northport High School in the 15th Annual Emerging Leaders Business Competition at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue, sponsored by the Town of Huntington Chamber of Commerce. Over 350 students from 13 school districts competed in this event. These talented business students received a prompt a few weeks before the competition in a category of their choosing: Retail Marketing, Human Resources, Graphic Design, Hospitality Services, Travel and Tourism, Entertainment Marketing, Public Relations, Not-for-Profit Fundraising, Sports Management, Entrepreneurship, and Job Interview. Students worked in pairs or individually, and presented their ideas to a panel of judges who are professionals in the business industry. Northport had three winners; senior Gabrielle Lee won third place in the interview category and juniors Tage Oster and Ryan Reynolds won third place in the Human Resources Management  category. Congratulations to these students and all who participated!
