Everyone has been talking about the famous sitcom Friends leaving Netflix after fans spotted an expiration date on the side of the screen saying January 1, 2019. These allegations led to angry Friends fans threatening on Twitter to end their Netflix subscriptions if the iconic sitcom was removed. This social media backlash lead Netflix’s editor in chief Ted Sarandos to release a statement on December 10th that these were simply rumors and Friends would not be leaving Netflix. According to The New York Times, Netflix is paying about $100 million to Warner Media to keep the show running another year, however, many believe that the show will move on in 2020 to a streaming service that will be launched by Warner Media.
