Book: To All the Boys I Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You

Author: Jenny Hann

Summary: “Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter. She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren’t. Now Laura Jean is more confused than ever. When another boy from her past returns to her life, Laura Jean’s feelings return to him too. Can a girl fall in love with two boys at once?” (Amazon).

Review: The story was overall enjoyable to read, and the characters still contained the same spunk. Hann keeps readers on the edge of their seats as she introduces Laura Jean’s first experience with her relationship with Peter. Peter’s characterization, however, is weak; John Ambrose’s characterization is better. The movie, which left out several scenes from the book, did not flow as well as the book.

Book Club Starter Questions:
1. Throughout the entirety of Peter and Laura Jean’s relationship, Laura Jean constantly compares herself to her ex, Genevieve. Why does she need to do that?

2. Peter gives Laura Jean the locket she likes so much, while John Ambrose gives her a snow globe. What does each boy’s gift reveal about his personality?
