I have a field hockey game after school today. We’re undefeated and we haven’t tied any games, so we’ve only won. I’m a bit nervous about this game because I’d like to play, but if we don’t do very well I probably won’t. Normally, we would buy UberEats or DoorDash and have a pre-game jam session and do homework and stuff. Now the school doesn’t allow that food so we don’t have anything to do. I mean, we have all that other stuff, but we don’t have the food and that’s the main part. After the jam session, we’ll all drive there. We listen to music and scream to the top of our lungs, to our coach’s annoyance. Then we get to the game and watch some varsity [teams playing] to learn how to get better. Then we warm up and we play. And yesterday our coach told us that if we’re undefeated for the season we get “undefeated” shirts. Our coach asked us if she lit a fire under our butts and she did because we really want those shirts. We’ve been working really hard since yesterday because of this and we have to keep going because we need the shirts. We have to win.
