While the new TV screens above the senior well have not been around for very long, they are already having a big impact on the student body.

It’s safe to say that every student at Northport High School passes through the commons at least a few times every day, either to go from class to class, meet their friends, or grab some lunch in the cafeteria.

While the new TV screens above the senior well have not been around for very long, they are already having a big impact on the student body.

Whether it is a drawing, a digital art piece, a painting, or even footage of the robotics team, every student can be recognized.

These screens provide students with the opportunity to have their hard work shown off in front of nearly everyone in the school. It’s hard to not feel impressed with yourself when you see your art up there on the screen. As studio in media teacher Mr. Hart puts it, “Students should be recognized for the hard work that they do.”

The best part about this is that, because they are TV screens, there are virtually no limits on what the school can display. Whether it is a drawing, a digital art piece, a painting, or even footage of the robotics team, every student can be recognized.

Giving students a sense of pride isn’t the only positive effect these new screens are having. The pieces being displayed show students all the opportunities offered here at Northport High School.

Without a doubt, the TVs in the commons are going to continue to contribute to the school community.

As a student, I look forward to seeing what new uses the school comes up with for them.
