Ceramics Class Conundrum

The Art of Education

I have to hand make all the coils because the extruder is broken.

I’m getting a bit annoyed with Ceramics class again.

I’m working on a very large coil project (and by that I mean the size, not the resulting grade), and I have to hand make all the coils because the extruder is broken.

If you don’t know what an extruder is, I don’t blame you, because I’d never heard of it either before this quarter, but basically it makes the coils for you. Unfortunately, we’ve been working so hard that it’s coming off the wall, which means no one can use it until it gets fixed.

Now I have to hand make all my coils, which I am so bad at that it takes me half the class just to make the coil and I end up only getting one layer done in an entire class period. At this rate, I won’t be finished with the project until halfway through December! I really hope the extruder gets fixed soon…
