From December 8-11, the Northport High School Tiger Marching Band will take a cross-country trip to Disneyland, located in Anaheim, California. The 300-student band will perform in the Magic Kingdom, while also having fun in various attractions, such as the Santa Monica Pier and Universal. The trip also includes various workshops for the band, as well as the Northport Tigerettes and Flagline. Students couldn’t be more thrilled to be partaking in such a trip. When asked about it, here is what they said:

“I’m very excited. After not getting to do it because of COVID, I feel like this is a good opportunity for the band. This will be a trip that most of the band hasn’t got to experience and also I’m excited to see us walk down Main Street.” – Carlee Ferrara, Junior, Percussionist

“I am very hyped and very excited. It seems like a really good opportunity” – Lindsay Conolly, Junior, Percussionist

“As a drum major, I am very excited to go to Disney. I’m a little nervous because we’re traveling very far with a lot of people. I think it’s going to go well and I think it’s a great opportunity for the band to travel and spread Northport Tiger pride” – Nick Crafa, Senior, Drum Major

“I’m very excited for the opportunity since it will be something I’ll remember about my high school career and I haven’t been this far from my parents so it will give me the experience of freedom I can expect as an adult.” – Morgan Murray, Sophomore, Flutist

“I’m excited but also nervous for it. I’m excited because I’ve always wanted to go to California and being able to go with band is such a cool opportunity. I am nervous because this is the first time that I’ve been on a plane in years and it’s with other band members.” – Xandira Allen, Senior, Flutist

“I’m really excited to hang out with my friends while also playing with the band. I know most people don’t want to admit this but I love the band. It’s like a giant family and most people don’t realize how amazing it is until they leave. It is one of my favorite periods of the day and I’m excited to go to California.” Lily Eagen, Sophomore, Clarinetist

Overwhelmingly, the band is thrilled to have the opportunity to go to California. This trip is a first for many, but one to definitely remember. In my opinion, I could not be more excited to have this chance to go to California. I cannot wait to be with my friends and enjoy what California has to offer to us.
