Buying a real Christmas tree or a fake Christmas tree has many pros and cons.

Buying a real Christmas tree or a fake Christmas tree has many pros and cons.

One of the biggest pros of buying a real Christmas tree is the actual experience of going out and getting it. Bundling up and going to a tree farm or nursery can really get someone into the holiday spirit.

Another thing that can get someone into the holiday spirit is the smell of a real Christmas tree, as having a real Christmas tree is the only way to get the most natural smell of fresh pine needles.

Some of the cons of having a real tree is that they can be a bit of a mess – vacuuming every couple of days can tend to get annoying and you can find pine needles even months after the tree is already down.

Some pros for having a fake Christmas tree is that you can save money in the long run, because trees this year can sell for up to $100 for a 3-5 foot tree. However, a fake tree can cost as low as $100 and can go up to $300. This might sound expensive but an artificial tree can actually last many years, so you would end up saving money after a couple of years.

One huge pro of having a fake tree is that there is a very low chance of it catching fire.

In general, getting an artificial tree or a real tree is all up to you. There are many pros and cons to each, but either way, having a tree in the house is festive.
