The recent NFL Conference Championships were polar opposites, and had fans divided in their opinions. Here is a breakdown of each of the games:

In the NFC, the San Francisco 49ers faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles. The game quickly got out of hand with the Eagles’ offense overpowering the Niners defense. With backup 49ers QB Brock Purdy already on the field, we saw an unfortunate elbow injury that came to Purdy, and third-string QB Josh Johnson had to step in. The Niners couldn’t get anything going and only scored 7 points, with the defense allowing 31 points to the Eagles’ high-powered offense. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts showed why he’s a top MVP contender, leading the Eagles to their 4th Super Bowl appearance.

The Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs provided a more thrilling game for fans, a rematch of last year’s AFC championship game that reignited their rivalry. It was a nail-biter until the end when Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker made a game-winning field goal to send the Chiefs to their third Super Bowl in four years. Despite controversial officiating spurring speculation of game-rigging in favor of the Chiefs, they won 23-20 and will face the Eagles in the Super Bowl. This should shape up to be a pretty good Super Bowl with the top two MVP candidates in Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Hurts of the Eagles.
