Spring is finally here, bringing warm weather, new sports– and allergies. As the cold weather disappears, seasonal spring allergies quickly take its place. Here are just a few tips to help make these pesky allergies a little more bearable:

  • Change out of your clothes and shower after being outside for a long time. This will wash the pollen off of you and prevent a runny nose later.
  • Avoid going outdoors on dry and windy days. That’s when pollen is all over the place. The best time for an afternoon outdoors is right after it has rained, when most of the pollen has washed away.
  • Check online to see how high the pollen content is to help you prepare for the next day.
  • Turn on the air conditioning to clean out the air. This will filter the pollen out of the air and keep the air clean.
  • Don’t leave laundry outside to dry. Pollen will stick to the cloth.
  • Consult your doctor about an allergy medication that is suitable for your symptoms.
