On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, the tenth graders from Northport High School stormed the community en masse, splitting into many groups to fulfill their mission. Buses delivered them to different sites, some as far as twenty minutes away, others closer to the school. They attacked their enemies with relentless ferocity, and wouldn’t quit until the jobs were done.
But who or what were these enemies? What could these spirited students have possibly been fighting? And more importantly, what was their mission?
The enemy the students were fighting really depended on the site. In some places, the enemy was Mother Nature. In others, it was human emotion. And in still others, the foe was human actions.
But whatever the individual mission, the overall mission remained the same: to defend the community’s hearts.
The elderly were lonely, the children were bored, and public places were a mess to look at. The students wouldn’t let these injustices stand, so they fearlessly marched out into the community and took action, defeating these foes for the time being. Not that long before, the ninth graders did the same thing.
The entirety of Northport High School is defending the community, so what will happen next? All of Northport is waiting to find out.
