If you’re anything like me, the last few months of school are the hardest because the beautiful weather makes it almost impossible to sit inside. I’m sure you’ve wondered why you can’t just take your worksheet outside, so I’m here to discuss all the benefits of outdoor classes.
First, there are benefits to just spending time in nature. Humans are meant to spend an hour a day outdoors, but life often gets in the way.
Sunlight provides Vitamin D which is essential for your immune system. Anxiety is also lessened outside; nature has a calming effect on people. Last, sunlight regulates your internal clock. This means that the brain becomes more aware of the day-night cycle which makes sleeping much easier.
Outdoor learning provides a more collaborative and comfortable environment, so being outside would promote teamwork with group activities. Going outside is a mood boosting way to enjoy the wonderful weather. There are only so many spring days that are mild enough to enjoy before the summer heat. Overall, the classroom should adapt to nature and allow students to enjoy the benefits of an outdoor education.
