The girl’s Varsity tennis team ended their season with a total score of three wins and seven losses. We played each match to the best of our ability and played against very talented students from other schools. Coach Quinn is the varsity tennis coach and did an excellent job of helping us improve on our skills during each practice to get us prepared for our matches. He has been coaching the tennis team since 2006. Although our season was short, we had a lot of fun. The seniors and I will definitely miss playing tennis for Northport High School.

The girl’s junior varsity tennis team finished their season with a tied score of four wins and four losses. They played hard and will be great additions to the future varsity tennis team. Coach Boylan, their coach, is always so encouraging. He works hard to include a strong sense of teamwork and communication between each player.

If you know little to nothing about tennis but would like to play, do not be afraid to try out for the team next fall. People of all skills levels are welcome. Keep an eye out during the last few weeks of August for the deadlines, and join Northport High Schools JV or Varsity tennis team!

“I really liked the way this team conducted themselves professionally in each match. You didn’t see any frustration. They displayed sportsmanship at all times and everyone gave 110% in practice and matches. I’m very proud how well they played” – Coach Quinn
