Once the 2025 World Series started, there was no shortage of thrill in the beginning, huge home runs and stellar pitching began the series with the fans as entertained as can be. Game 1 went to the Blue Jays as they defeated the Dodgers 11-4 thanks to star right fielder Addison Barger, who hit the first pinch hit grand slam in World Series History. Meanwhile the tide shifted in Game 2 as the Dodgers were able to bounce back thanks to the incredible performance of their starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto who pitched all 9 innings only allowing a run while recording 8 strikeouts.
With the series tied up, the teams headed to Los Angeles and the home of the Dodgers for the next 3 games of the series not knowing the history that would ensue. Game 3 started like the others, exhilaration in the beginning with 2 home runs from the Dodgers in the first 3 innings. Teoscar Hernández the right fielder for the Dodgers and Shohei Ohtani the designated hitter for the Dodgers both hit solo bombs to give them the lead. The Blue Jays come back in the bottom of the fourth as Alejandro Kirk hit a go-ahead 3-run Home run to give the Blue Jays the lead. As the 2 teams went back and forth for the rest of the game, they find themselves tied 5-5 at the end of the ninth inning, calling for extra innings.
With thrills and near game ending plays, the 2 teams kept going and going. Deep into the night they finally reached the 18th inning, and with the first batter in the bottom half of the inning, Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman hits a walk off home run to send everyone home after over 6 hours of baseball. Freeman becomes one of the only players to hit walk off homers multiple times in a World Series. The game showed all fans why baseball is one of the most exciting sports in the world and truly why it is America’s pastime.
