The 2025 World Series was a thriller and some consider it the most entertaining World Series in history. With extra inning late night games, monster home runs, and incredible pitching, this years fall classic did not disappoint.
In the first 6 games of the series, the Dodgers and Blue Jays went back and forth exchanging big blowouts and home runs. In the first game Blue Jays outfielder Addison Barger became the first man in World Series history to hit a pinch hit grandslam. In Game 3, Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman hit a walk off home run in the 18th inning to send everyone home at almost 3:00 A.M. He is one of the only people in playoff history to hit a walk off home run in the World Series twice. As all the games were entertaining, none lined up to the notorious game 7 that everyone anticipated.
Game 7 started with a bang as the Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette hit a monster 3-run Home run to dead center field, giving the Jays a 3 run lead early knocking the Dodgers starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani out of the game early. As the game went on the Dodgers slowly chipped away at the Blue Jays lead, and in the eight inning Max Muncy hit a home run for the Dodgers to cut the lead to one run, 4-3. Onto the ninth with 2 outs left in their season, an unlikely hero for the Dodgers arose, Miguel Rojas an infielder getting his chance to shine hit a game tying home run to extend this game even further. In the bottom of the inning with a bases loaded jam, Rojas again comes up huge with a great play to get the runner out at home sending the game to extra innings.
In the 11th inning, Dodgers catcher Will Smith hit a go-ahead home run to give the Dodgers the lead and eventually win them the game and the series becoming the first team to win back to back world series since the Yankees did it.
Although the fun has ended, the season and especially the World Series was a great one to look back at as the thrills made it a season to remember.
