On November 28th of this year, the annual tree lighting in Huntington was hosted by a famous actor, Ralph Macchio. The tree was lit after 6:30 PM. Even if it was 40 degrees outside, and there were huge crowds, it was worth it to see the famous actor.

Who is Ralph Macchio? Ralph Macchio is a famous actor that starred in famous movies like the Karate Kid series, Cobra Kai, Outsiders, etc., Ralph Macchio was born on November 4th, 1961. He grew up in Huntington, and attended Half Hollow Hills High School West. Ralph holds deep affection for the Island he still calls home. This also isn’t the first visit he’s made to Long Island while pursuing his acting career, he visited Nassau county in 2014.

My experience with seeing him light up the Christmas tree was unforgettable, he made a heartwarming speech and thanked all of us and others for supporting him, and his acting career. You can tell that Ralph really appreciates everybody that helped him get to where he is. There were more than 100 people attending the tree lighting, some people have commented that there were much more people than usual, just to see Ralph Macchio!

Hopefully Ralph Macchio continues to visit his hometown, so we can see more of him, and his accomplishments.
