I don’t know about y’all but my family and friends (as well as myself of course) are unhealthily obsessed with Crumbl Cookies. I’ve heard all kinds of reviews, good and bad, but it’s always been a favorite place of mine since it popularized on Tik-Tok a couple of years back.
Crumbl Cookies is a company co-owned by Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley. The company was founded in 2017 with a collective goal of baking “the perfect chocolate chip cookie.” The two came from Utah and from there became a national dessert brand. It is said that neither founder had any sort of prior baking experience, only a goal and a strong shared determined mindset. Their original focus was just the one cookie, but soon after the company introduced a rotating weekly menu, which, in turn, fueled their rapid growth and popularity. And eventually, the business expanded from not only cookies, but brownies, cheesecakes, and puddings too!
Their most popular cookies, of course, started with the cookie that started it all; the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk Cookie. In a close second, the Classic Pink Sugar. With the expansion of the business, cookies such as the Oreo Mallow Sandwich cookie, the Cookie Dough cookie, the Double Fudge Brownie, the Blue Monster (ft. Chips Ahoy!) cookie, and the Caramel Shortbread (ft. Twix) cookie. The more intricate cookies are said to be popular because of an overwhelming sense of familiarity, especially with the cookies involving other collaborations, as well as nostalgia and excitement with each bite. Social media had no problem picking this store up and making it what it is today.
It might be old news to most by now, but as of December 19th, 2025, a new and arguably closer location of this franchise came to Stony Brook! This store is the first of the franchise to hit Suffolk County. And, luckily enough for business, this cookie shop is less than a mile from a highly-visited place on Long Island; Smith Haven Mall.
If you haven’t tried anything from this store yet and do have a sweet tooth, what are you doing?! Although a little pricey, these flavors can be killer and are shareable with family and friends! Let us know what your favorite cookie is in the comments!
