The Northport Varsity Girls Tennis Team of 2024 is the best team we’ve ever had. Each and every girl has studied the sport in their own unique way, providing depth for the entire team. Because of this, Head Coach Harry Kingsley has made lots of alternative lineups. This has been a great season!

Alexis Heffernan (Senior Captain) is playing 1st singles this season. At 2nd singles, Payton Cotter (Senior), and at 3rd singles Bella Greisch (Senior Captain). This is already an exceptionally strong line of singles players. Alexis, Olivia, and Bella all have prior experience in doubles playing, which creates dynamic in both lineups. 

Starting at 1st doubles, Sara Rayola (Sophomore) and Avery Shin (Junior). 2nd doubles consists of (8th graders) Lilah Leogrande and Ava Hagedorn. The 3rd doubles spot is occupied by Julia Desena (Freshman) and Ellie O’Niell (Freshman). 4th doubles is Izzy McCardle (Senior Captain) and Nora Segur (Junior). This lineup is immensely strong, deep, and overall contributing to our success in the fall season so far. 

There are even more alternate lineups that all derive the point of the fact that each and every player on the team is great at the sport. Everyone can play pretty much every spot which is rare to see in a team of such unique girls with different playing styles. 

Our Girls Varsity Tennis Team this year is currently maintaining a record of 9 wins to 4 loses in the 2024 season. Most recently, their incredible win of 4-3 against Smithtown West to finish off the season! Playoffs begin next week so make sure to show some pride and support the Girls Varsity Tennis team.
